Rev. Roosevelt Council was born November 11, 1937 in Belleview, Florida to James Council and Gracie Stuckman. He passed away January 3, 2023 in Bradenton, Florida while surrounded by his loving family. He believed that family should always be there to uplift one another as family was everything to him. He enjoyed traveling with his family throughout Florida; The city of Silver Springs, was one of many places he enjoyed spending quality time with family along with visiting the scenic beaches amongst the State.
Rev. Council gave his life to Christ in his early years and attended Faith of Deliverance Church in Rubonia, Florida under the leadership of Pastor Ira Jenkins who inspired and mentored him during his walk of FAITH, spreading the word of God to all he came into contact with. Rev. Council was responsible for driving the church van and eventually became a pastor himself. While employed as a maintenance worker at Bradenton Convalescent Nursing Home, he was known by the residents for his love and affectionate kindness exhibited towards them while spreading joy and the love of God along the way.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years Pamela Council; son Roosevelt Council Jr; parents James Council and Gracie Stuckman, sisters Pastor Rose Mobley and Evelyn Council. He leaves cherished memories to his children: Patricia Marshall (Howard), Brenda Randall (Ronnie), James Council, Lisa Washington (Rod), Gretchen Dowling, and Joshua Council; sister Helen Johnson and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.
