Robert “Bob” Charles Broat was born October 17, 1929 in Gloversville, New York to parents James and Olive Broat. Bob later met and married Louise Phillips Broat. To their union of marriage seven children were added. Bob was a Mechanical Engineer who loved flying small airplanes and riding his motorcycle with Louise in tow. He was a family man who loved his wife and children dearly. Bob invented numerous tools and equipment for various companies in which they patented. He designed his own greeting cards and was known to send them to his family and friends. Prior to a job transfer to Michigan, Bob owned a farmhouse and horse (Kimset Galley) which he adored. He was known for his sharp dressing ability as he wore many nice suits to church as He was a faithful member of 20+years at Happy Gospel Church under the leadership of Pastor Bill Bailey.
He is predeceased by his parents, siblings and son Larry but leaves most cherishing memories to his wife of 73 years Louise Broat; daughter Debora (Tim) Taylor; sons Paul (Terri) Broat, Raymond (Diane) Broat, Richard (Sue) Broat, David (Maryanne) Broat and Daniel (Jannette Ash) Broat; 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and church family. Celebration of life service will be held 2pm Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Happy Gospel Church 1915 53rd Avenue East Bradenton.
