Richard Leonard Taylor was born September 29,1942 in Allen Park, Michigan to parents Leonard and Ida Taylor. Growing up, Richard was always well dressed. He loved various colors and would always coordinate his wardrobe to fashion such. As a teen, Richard became interested in the church, learning about God and various faiths so much that he later became a Pastor. His life as a Pastor allowed him to reach and save lives for 40+ years. Pastor Richard was a faithful member of Happy Gospel Church for nineteen plus years where he was on the Pastoral team visiting members who were hospital and nursing homebound. He served on the church board and he was the senior adult pastor for many years. He was very partial to the children in the church as he treated them like his own. Pastor Richard was also the owner of Taylor Realty Group in which he took great pride in making sure there was a home for everyone to “Call their Own”. Pastor Richard answered the call of the Lord on December 27, 2025 with his wife by his side. He is predeceased by his daughter Jennifer Taylor; parents Leonard and Ida Taylor and sister Patricia Taylor. He leaves fond memories to his wife of 34 years Adrienne Taylor; children Irene Rowell and Paul (Angie) Seneck; brother Gary Taylor; grandchildren Trent Waldron, Dale Stafford, Alexa Seneck, Olivia Seneck, Fred Hurley and Lexi Hurley; great grandchildren Kamara Stafford and Beauden Seneck. Viewing will be held 10am Wednesday January 7, 2026 with Military Honor Service beginning 11am Wednesday January 7, 2026 (both at Happy Gospel Church). Burial take place at Sarasota National Cemetery on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
