Pearlie Mae Williams was born February 5, 1952 in Monticello, Florida to David George Thomas Sr. and Annie Mae (Seabrooks) Thomas. She was educated within the Manatee School System and graduated from Manatee High School in Bradenton, FL. Pearlie worked many years as a housekeeper at Manatee Memorial Hospital and various nursing homes.
Never having any children of her own, she loved and cared immensely for all of her nieces and nephews. There was not one of them who didn’t love and adore their “Aunt Bull” (a nickname given to her years ago) as there was nothing she would not do for them and she assisted them in getting away with most everything. Pearlie was the life of every party and every party had to include her famous deviled eggs. She was the type of person who would give the shirt off of her back if needed. Pearlie met Joe Henry Williams and the two later married on February 8, 1986 at the home of Nettie and Sylvester Bellamy (sister and brother in law) with all of her family and friends to witness. She was the model wife and remained loyal and dedicated to him until his death on March 11, 2018. Pearlie was a woman of great strength and character. Never meeting a stranger, never turning her back on anyone and always there to lend a hand. She is predeceased by her husband of 32 years Joe Henry Williams; parents David and Annie Mae Thomas; sisters Dorothy Watson and Nettie Bellamy; brother in laws Sylvester Bellamy Sr. and Yves Jean-Louis; nephew Sylvester Bellamy Jr. and great nephews Corey and Torey Gilley, Richard Cannady Jr. and David George Thomas IV. She leaves most cherishing memories to her only brother David George (Carla) Thomas Jr.; sisters Ola (Moses Sr.) Sheppard (both of Palmetto, FL), Annie Mae Jean-Louis, Mary Thomas, Gail Standifer (all of North Port, FL) and Janice Johnson (Central, SC); maternal aunt Rose O’Neal (Rivera Beach, FL); paternal uncle George (Teresa) Thomas (Ashburn, VA) nieces and nephews Sylvia (Carlton) Bennett, Lynetta (Monfils) Brutus, Chevelle Sheppard, Moses Sheppard Jr., Corey Gilley, Nikeya (Ervin) Adams, Tameka Thomas, Kaures Thomas, David Thomas III, Lavelle Bing, Rashawn Archie, Tawanda Williams, Shenika Watson, Courtney Johnson, Bobby Johnson Jr., Briana Johnson and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and loving friends.
