Oranzlo Elias Henley

Oranzlo Elias Henley, fondly called Onzalo and Jackie was born February 4, 1932 to the late Benjamin and Callie Swilley Elias. She departed this life on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

 She attended the public schools in Manatee County and graduated from Lincoln Memorial High School in Palmetto, Florida. Oranzlo enrolled at Florida A&M College where she majored in Nursing. She later moved to St. Albans, New York. She worked several years at Creedmoor State Hospital. After returning to Bradenton, she worked at Manatee Memorial Hospital in the labor and delivery department for 15 years. After leaving Manatee Memorial she worked at Blake Memorial Hospital for several more years. Ending her career working at several convalescence homes in Manatee County.

Oranzlo enjoyed cooking and preparing food for others. She was very kind to her family and the elderly. She would take them shopping and help them in many other ways. One of her favorite relaxing techniques was playing her organ and she was very proud of the fact that she could play by ear!  

Oranzlo was preceded in death by all her siblings, Juanita, Rayfield, Sr, Lynell, Plant Cheater, Augusta Mae, Pete, Jimmy, and Charles. She leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Lionel (Deborah)Wooten, grandchildren, Keenan Wooten, Krystal (Christopher) Harris, great grandchildren, Christopher, Jr, Carter and Colin Harris and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, September 27, 2024, 6 to 8PM with the Celebration of life Service 11AM Saturday, September 28, 2024 both at Greater Mount Pilgrim Primitive Baptist Church located at 126 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave West Bradenton, Fl. 34205
