Marlon Houston Sr. was born July 19, 1952 to parents Robert and Annie (Davis) Houston Sr. in Bradenton, Florida. He was a Florida native who graduated from Southeast High School and became a truck driver for Waste Management until retirement. Marlon loved to cook and grill and was known for his sweet potato pies. He was a family man as "FAM(ILY)" was very important to him. Marlon made sure his kids and grandkids were on top of their studies as education was in his opinion something no one could take from them and he was the type of man who said what he meant and meant what he said causing them to excel in everything they attempted. He enjoyed walking, riding his bike and exercising as much as possible. In his free time, he could be found fixing anything he deemed broken and he enjoyed drawing and routing for his favorite football teams (Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Florida State Seminoles).
Marlon is predeceased by his parents Robert Sr. and Annie Mae (Davis) Houston, daughters Marlene Houston Momeny and Melinda Houston Walker; son DeQuan Randolph, brothers George Houston Sr. (Pearl), Joe Nathan Houston Sr. (Dorothy) and Renay Houston Sr. (Gwendolyn), sisters Veora Thomas (Amos), Lora Ann Goff (Rueben) and Vivian Hamilton while leaving cherished memories to his children Darnell (Candace) Randolph Sr., Brandon Randolph, Marlana Houston, Marlon (Aleshia) Houston Jr. and Marquis (Niketa) Houston; siblings Robert (Angela) Houston Jr. and Kirkward (Jacqueline) Houston Sr.; sister Cleomie Shelley; special devoted nephew James Davis and a host of loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Public viewing will be held 6-8pm Friday September 5, 2025 at Apostle I Funeral Home 2403 14th Street West Bradenton, Florida 34205. Funeral service will be 11am Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Pathways Christian Fellowship Center 329 6th Avenue West Bradenton, Florida 34205.
