Marcia "Marci" A. Bolton passed away at Blake Hospital in Bradenton, Florida after a short illness. Marci was born in Iowa City, Iowa. Marci lived in Iowa until she moved to Bradenton, FL in the mid-60's.
She spent over 20 years as a professional entertainer performing in various lounges and resort bars singing and playing the piano. Of the many were the Cabana Inn in Sarasota, Ray's Silver Dollar, Bradenton Beach, the Buccaneer Resort for many years, the Colony Beach and Tennis Club, Longboat Key, the Far Horizons, Longboat Key, and the Royal Flamingo Inn, Royal Palm Beach, Fl.
In 1988 she retired from the entertainment business and pursued a career in massage therapy. She graduated from massage therapy school in 1989 and practiced massage therapy until she retired in 2017. After retirement, Marci enjoyed volunteering at the public library selling books. She loved to read. She also enjoyed sewing and designing quilts and shopping for treasures and bargains at the local thrift shops. She enjoyed playing with other musicians in Bradenton and Sarasota. Other hobbies included cooking and creating her own recipes, gardening, working crossword puzzles and caring for her beloved dogs.
Marci is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene B. Casey and Elizabeth M. Niffenegger Casey, of Iowa City and Sarasota, FL. She is survived by her two children; Dan Bolton, Chesterton, IN and Elaine Bolton, Bradenton FL; her brother, William B. Casey, Dayton, OH; and sister, Mary Beth Casey Bowen, Sarasota, FL. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A private Celebration of Life will be held for the family. Memorial Donations may be made to Southeastern Guide Dogs, Inc., Palmetto, FL.
