Jonathan Jerard Prater was born May 12, 1983 in Ft. Pierce, Florida to parents Mary Ann Prater and Sandy D. Houston. He received his basic education in Ft. Pierce, Florida. later moving to Bradenton, Florida. Jonathan was a crane operator for the Logistics Company at the Port of Manatee. He loved making people laugh and was known for his huge heart and compassion for others. Family was everything to him along with his grandmother whom he affectionately cherished.
On March 29, 2022, Jonathan answered God’s Call and returned to his heavenly home. Leaving to cherish his memories to Daughters Dominique Prater and Janiah Prater; Parents Mary Ann Prater and Sandy (Roxie Ann) Houston; Sisters Tameka Houston and Shavon Williams and Laketrics Albritton; brothers Sandy Jr., Randy, Deshon, Juan Houston and Brent Prater; Maternal Grandmother Joyce Holloway and Paternal Grandmother Perlease Houston; Aunts Susie Prater, Joyce Prater, Robin Prater, Lorraine Robinson, Penny Prater-Copper (Ashley) Mae Prater (Robert), Patricia (Constine) Baskin, Annie Mae Capers and Kim Houston; Uncles George Houston Jr., Qunintin Sr. (Debra) Houston; Special friend Kelvin Dobson and a host of nieces nephew's cousins and friends. Visitation 6-8pm Friday at Griffith Cline Funeral Home under the direction of Apostle I Funeral Home 720 Manatee Avenue West Bradenton, Florida 34205 and Funeral Service 10am Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Happy Gospel Church 1915 53rd Avenue East Bradenton, Florida.
