Johnny Jerome Johnson was born on February 29, 1960 in Lake Wales, Florida to John D. Johnson Sr. and Donna E. Johnson.

He attended Elementary School in Lake Wales, Florida and later graduated high school in Palatka, Florida.  Johnny found himself involved in football and basketball during his school tenure and during his adult years, he was a huge fan particularly of football but loved just about every sport imaginable.   He was the kind of man that everyone loved as he never met a stranger because he was so outgoing and friendly. 

Johnny moved to Bradenton, Florida in 1997 and met the love of his life Kimela Ellenwood. The two were married December 27, 1997 and though there were no children born into this union, Johnny welcomed his two stepsons (Johnny Morris and Antoine Anderson) with an open heart and wide arms.  Throughout the years, Johnny worked as a Mechanic for Freeman Datsun and USA Fencing.  He later became self employed as a handyman contractor.  He was a member of St. Johns Missionary Baptist Church of Palmetto, Florida and later became a member of Living Word Fellowship of Palmetto, Florida in the year 2000 to the present where he served as the Director of Ministry Operations.

Johnny is preceeded in death by his Father: Reverend J.D. Johnson Sr; Brothers: Dwayne Wright and John Demps Johnson Jr. and Stepmother: Gloria Johnson; while leaving cherished memories to his Mother: Donna Garris Johnson of Ellenton, Florida; Daughter: Jameika (Carlton Jr) Johnson Winston; Grandchildren: Carlton III and Camryn Winston (all of Virginia Beach); Siblings: Sylvia (Robert) Drayton (Bradenton, Florida), Calvin (Renee) Johnson Sr. (Palmetto, Florida), Marion (Jerry) Mack (Ellenton, Florida), Tony E. Johnson Sr. (Ellenton, Florida) and Jauana Johnson (Palmetto, Florida); God Daughter: Ja’Mesha Crumedy (Ellenton, Florida) and a host of loving Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Step Sisters and a Step Brother, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 6-8pm Friday, January 6, 2017 at Living Word Fellowship Church 600 7th Street West Palmetto, Florida 34221

Funeral Service will be Noon Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Mt. Raymond Full Gospel Baptist Church 2410 4th Avenue East Palmetto, Florida 34221
