John Larry Van Patten

John Larry Van Patten was born May 31, 1939 in Oneida, New York to parents Joel and Marion Van Patten.  He was a proud United States Veteran Marine who loved his family and country. John held a special place in his heart for children as he believed they were the future and would do great things.  He never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off of his back.  John was quite the prankster.  He loved inviting people to have coffee but seemingly always found a way to make them pay for it being the jokester that he was.  He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Linda and granddaughter Lindsey Quinehan. Leaving cherished memories to his children Larry (Annie), Wayne and Lisa (Steven) Quinehan; grandchildren John and Aiden; great grandchildren Deshaun and Jullian. Graveside Service will be 10am Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Sarasota National Cemetery.
