Donna E. Johnson was born on February 22, 1935 to parents Sylvester and Maggie Garris in Hastings, Florida. She first was employed by Citrus World while later becoming a custodian and substitute teacher for Palatka High School. Donna was a woman of tremendous FAITH. She was very passionate about feeding the homeless and Christian outreach in general. Throughout her years of servitude, she was a Sunday School Teacher and a Deaconess. While in her later years she was the church mother for The Living Word Fellowship Church where her youngest son (Tony E. Johnson) serves as Senior Pastor. Donna was known for being a sharp dresser and amazing cook. While raising many of her grandchildren, Donna imparted the gift of great cooking upon them and to this very day, they are some of the best cooks around. Donna loved watching westerns as well. One of her most favorite meals was fried fish. She was known to ALWAYS share a positive word of encouragement to those she came into contact with. We will always remember her saying “A dab will do”… a term she coined in her later years.
