Donald “Allen” McCormack, born September 1st, 1940, in Goffstown, NH, passed away December 10th 2022 in Bradenton, FL. As a resident of Florida for 40+ years, Allen grew up in Milford, New Hampshire alongside his seven brothers and sisters.
Prior to making landfall in Florida, Allen served in the United States Navy from October 2nd, 1958, through October 2nd, 1962. During his time in the service, he was apart of HSAR to AA, AA to NATTC in Jacksonville, FL, as well as the USS Intrepid in Norfolk, VA.
After his time in the service, Allen went on to pursue a career as a plumber, a trade he shared with his brother Daniel, and at some point, each of his sons. Retiring from plumbing, he went on to finish his working years at Home Depot, before eventually settling and retiring in Bradenton. Loved by so many, he was known for his infectious smile, laugh and personality, as well as all his eccentric stories. This brother, father, uncle, cousin, grandfather, and pop pop will be deeply missed by all.
Preceded in death by his sister Doris McDonald, he is survived by his six siblings, Donna (Eddie) Leavitt, Janet VanValkenburg, Sharon Stein, Judy (Floyd) Pearcy, Daniel McCormack, and Susan (Bill) Babine. His five children, Keith (Nancy) McCormack of Texas, Kelly Khan of North Carolina, Darryl McCormack of Bradenton, Derek McCormack of Palmetto, and Dana (Brandy) McCormack of Sarasota. As well as his 17 grands, and 27 nieces/nephews.
A local service will be held on Wednesday December 21st, 2022, at 11AM at Happy Gospel Church 1915 53rd Avenue East, Bradenton, FL 34203. An additional service will be held for those that are unable to travel to Florida on Wednesday December 21st, 2022, at 11AM at VFW Milford 1VFW Way, Milford, NH 03055. Both services will be available for viewing via zoom.
