Beryl Elfreda Brewer was born February 25, 1954 to parents William Stephens Sr. and Annie Louise Brewer. She was educated in the Manatee County School System and upon graduating she continued her education by becoming a nurse. Later in life, she wasn’t completely satisfied with being a nurse so she went to cosmetology school and became a licensed beautician. “Freda”, as we affectionately know her has always exhibited compassion to people. She loved kids and senior citizens. After becoming disabled and no longer able to work, she became a parent all over again, fostering five of her granddaughters. As they began to grow up and leave the nest, Freda still wasn’t content. She enjoyed working at different food banks and taking food around to people in need. The welfare of people became her mission allowing for her to place calls to determine who needed food and going the extra mile delivering the food to those in need. There were plenty of days where she didn’t feel well, but she kept the FAITH in knowing where her help came from. She sang in the “Greater Mt. Pilgrim MBC Choir” under the leadership of Pastor Ceasar Allen. A short time later, her son Lee was called into the ministry and she joined his church while serving the ministry in multiple capacities until GOD summoned her home.
