He is survived by his children Lakia Davis, Augustus Newhall Capers Jr, Terrell Latrey Capers, Marlon Kardell Capers, Serrenda Chante’ Capers and six grandchildren; siblings Mary Roberts, Florice Howard, James Capers Jr., Ellen Ann Brodus, Elizebeth Lee Capers, Brenda Rudd, Alfries Capers (Fee), Irene Jones (Toonie), Melvin Capers and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
