Annie Ruth Roett was born December 5, 1928 in Tuskegee, Alabama to Robert and Willie Marcus.  She attended Washington Public Elementary School.  She relocated to New York during her Junior year of high school and graduated.  Shortly after graduation, she found the love of her life Mortimer Roett and the two married in December 1951. This union of marriage brought forth two handsome sons- Mortimer Jr. and Edward.  Annie was a great wife and loving mother.  She pursued a nursing degree in which she completed in 1968 and began working as a Registered Nurse at Parkway Hospital in Queens New York. She retired from Parkway Hospital after 30 years of service and in 2003, moved to Florida to enjoy a life of sunny weather, traveling, spending time with friends and sorority sisters of Chi Eta Phi Sorority Inc. (Theta Chi Chapter).

Annie is Predeceased by her husband Mortimer Sr. and Son Edward.  She leaves cherished memories to Son: Mortimer Jr. (Bradenton, FL); Sisters: Sarah Turner (Tocoma, WA) and Dora Reid (Manhattan, NY); Daughter In Law: Robyn (Edward) Roett (Bradenton, FL); 5 Grandchildren: Lauren (James) Roett-Morales (Bradenton, FL), Michael C. Roett (Bradenton, FL), Michael (Danielle) Roett (Norcross, GA), Christopher Roett (Columbia, SC), Chandra (Larry Sr.) Kennedy (Charlotte, NC); 6 Great Grandchildren: Mehki, Brooklyn, Jaden, Devyn, Larry Jr. and Chance.  She is also survived by a host of sorrowing friends and extended family.
