Vernon C. Johnson was born July 13, 1964 in Bradenton, Florida to parents Robert and Lula Mae Johnson and passed away February 8, 2024 in Manatee Memorial Hospital. Vernon who was commonly known as “J. Paul or Dottie” to his many friends and family was well known in the community and was educated by the Manatee County Public School System.
He had a love for fishing and thoroughly enjoyed spending most of his spare time on the pier or a boat with his fiancée, stepson and brother in law Donald. When Vernon was not fishing, he enjoyed watching football; Deeming the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as his favorite NFL team.
Vernon was a jack of all trades and was always on the go doing something different. There was never a job too large or small and he was always willing to help however he could.
Vernon is preceded in death by his parents Robert Johnson and Lula Mae Simpson and brother Eddie Johnson. He leaves cherished memories to his fiancée Terry Poole and though he never had any children of his own, Terry's children Lynette (Herman) White and Daryll (Johntisha Wester) Blalock were raised and considered to be his own; 7 step grandchildren; brothers Samuel Johnson and Christopher (Simpson) Johnson; sisters Susan Johnson and Priscilla Johnson; nieces Tierra, Takoya, Tiffany, Tanisha Jefferson and Tanasia Johnson. Vernon made an impression on our hearts that will never be forgotten and he will be missed immensely by everyone he befriended.
